Securing funds with a Service Agreement
A signed Service Agreement can be provided to a Plan Manager at So Joe to secure the funds for a participant. This quarantines the funds from other service providers and provides security for the participant and the service provider that there will be adequate funds available.
A Service Agreement is an agreement between a NDIS participant and a service provider. It provides information to ensure it is clear what you have both agreed to. It is covered by Australian Consumer Law.
NDIA Recommendations
The NDIA recommends having a written service agreement so it is clear to both parties, what supports will be delivered and how they will be delivered. A service agreement is only recommended, however, it must be in place for Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA).
Service Agreement Inclusions
- What supports are being provided
- The cost of the supports
- Responsibilities of the provider
- The NDIS participant’s responsibilities
- How long the agreement goes for and how it can be changed
- Dispute resolution process.
The NDIA will take action if the agreement doesn’t align with the NDIS Act 2013 and NDIS Price Guide.
